Job Summary:

The Polysomnographic Tech performs basic and advanced diagnostic sleep studies including: PSG, CPAP, MSLT, MWT, ASV. Must be dependable and have a passion for excellent patient care!

Responsibilities:

  • Prepares patient and equipment for ordered testing. Interviews patient to determine sleep disorder issues and to explain testing procedures.
  • Performs and documents testing. Monitors patient throughout testing and intervenes as necessary to resolve patient needs or equipment issues.
  • Scores, interprets and reports results of sleep studies.
  • Prepares, calibrates, repairs and maintains equipment required for testing. Determines and reports needed repairs/replacements.
  • All other duties as assigned as per mutual understanding.

Respiratory Therapist

Job Summary:
Restores patient’s pulmonary function; alleviates pain; supports life by planning and administering medically prescribed respiratory therapy.

Responsibilities:

  • Meet with patients to find out about their complaints and symptoms;
  • Examine the patient and conduct diagnostic tests;
  • Analyze the results of the examination and tests to make a diagnosis;
  • Explain the diagnosis and possible treatment methods to the patient;
  • Consult with doctors and other medical professionals regarding therapeutic methods;
  • Create a treatment plan, explain it to the patient, and direct others in administering the therapy;
  • Continually monitor the patient’s progress and response to treatments, modifying the plan and making adjustments;
  • Consult with other staffers and attend patient-care conferences to determine when to discharge patients;
  • Design home treatments, including breathing exercises, and instruct patients in how to do them;
  • Suggest outpatient and home-health follow-up programs;
  • Keep examination and testing areas clean, organized, and supplied with materials;
  • Follow established protocols designed to limit exposure to infectious diseases;
  • Create and update patient records;
  • Perform preventive maintenance on medical machinery, detect malfunctions, and calibrate equipment;
  • Educate other staffers in techniques and procedures by conducting training sessions;
  • Receive continuing education by attending conferences, reading medical journals, and joining professional organizations.

Job Summary:
Provide respiratory care under the direction of respiratory therapists and physicians.

Responsibilities:

  • Under the direction of a licensed respiratory therapist or doctor, conduct examinations and tests on patients
  • Help provide breathing and oxygen therapy
  • Administer medication
  • Collect blood samples from patients for laboratory testing
  • Monitor patients’ vital signs and responses to treatment
  • Provide education regarding treatments and breathing exercises
  • Show patients how to use breathing-assistance devices at home
  • Help patients fill out forms
  • Maintain medical records
  • Ensure that equipment is sterile and organized
  • Prepare and test devices needed for treatments and testing

Skills:

  • Strong communication and people skills are needed to work with patients and medical staff. Respiratory therapy technicians must be able to follow spoken and written instructions.
  • Must be meticulous in monitoring patients and recording data. Analytical abilities, as well as critical-thinking and problem-solving skills, are also necessary.

Under general supervision, and according to established policies and procedures,

  • will provide excellent customer service by greeting patients,
  • Answering the phone and directing the caller as appropriate.
  • Performs duties across all physician practices, patient registration, scheduling appointments, collecting insurance co-pays and deductibles, insurance verification, records financial activity and accounts for all transactions completed on each shift.
  • Provides continuity of flow of incoming and outgoing communication.
  • Cross training in all practices, filing and retrieval of patient medical records is also necessary, along with maintenance of a neat and orderly office.
